PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) originated in the 1980s as a framework for improving student behavior in schools. It gained significant traction and formal recognition in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Target Service Population:

PBIS primarily serves K-12 students in educational settings. It is utilized in various types of schools, including public, charter, and private institutions, aiming to reach all students and create a safe, supportive, and conducive learning environment for everyone.
